Undeclared goods worth almost half a million hryvnias were confiscated from a bus driver (PHOTOS)

At the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs of the State Customs Service, inspectors found in two boxes expensive foreign goods, which a driver tried to bring to Ukraine without declaration and taxation.
Last night (November 23, 20), a minibus Mercedes-Benz driven by a 20-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region returning from Spain arrived from Hungary. The young man chose the "red corridor" to pass customs and border control. He filled out a customs declaration, in which he indicated the presence of 25 packages of hand luggage with personal belongings only. Orally, he reiterated to customs officers that he was not moving any goods that are subject to mandatory declaration and taxation.
However, experienced inspectors still checked the vehicle and found new foreign-made goods, which the driver had failed to mention. As it turned out, he was transporting network switches Cisco Nexus 3000 in the amount of 2 pieces. The price of one switch in online stores is as much as 8 thousand dollars, which is UAH 224 thousand. Therefore, it is clear that the found goods significantly exceed the value allowed by the customs legislation – 500 euros and up to 50 kg.
As the Ukrainian explained, the goods were not his, but a stranger’s, who had sent two boxes from Valencia (Spain) to Ivano-Frankivsk, saying that those were items for everyday use.
Therefore, a report on violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was drawn up. The cost of the seized goods will be determined by an expert. The case was sent to court, which will decide the fate of the goods.
