Ukrainians will have to pay 300% penalty for the delay in payments of utility bills

In 2013 in Ukraine the penalties for late payment of utility bills will likely be introduced. Anatoly Bliznyuk informed on the consideration of the relevant bill in the Cabinet.

According to the minister, this measure should make debtors pay for utilities on time, and those who can not pay at once will be able to pay in installments, by concluding contract with the organization that provides the services.

The penalty has been provided since 2011, but there is still no mechanism for its collection.

Anatoly Bliznyuk does not exclude that the penalty may reach 300%, although the prepared draft law still states 100%.

The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said that is not yet known when the bill will be considered and most likely the law will be adopted by the new Verkhovna Rada.
