The law which provides strict sanctions against employers who hire illegal immigrants came into force in Italy, reports the MinFin issue.
Those illegal immigrants who informs on their employers in case of illegal employment will be provided with the permanent residence on humanitarian grounds.
Currently the government allows organize the labor relations by issuing the necessary documents. Request for legalization of hired manpower can be sent from September 15 to October 15. However, an employee has to prove his stay in the country at least from December 31, 2011 until August 9, 2012 in order to obtain a permit for work.
According to the Italian government there are 150 000 illegal workers in the country for whom this new resolution may become a good chance of their work legalization.
