Ukrainian Rusyns performed at the festival in Slovakia (PHOTOS)

On 16, 17, 18 of June, the International Festival of Ukrainian Rusyn Folklore was taking place in Świdnik.

It was organized by the Union of Ukrainian Rusyns of Slovakia (Chairman – Petro Sokol), with the support of the Mayor of Swidnik and the deputies of Presov County. Groups from Poland, Lithuania, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Ukraine were invited. Our country was represented by two ensembles. Rivne children’s song and dance ensemble and honored Carpathian song and dance ensemble "Verkhovyna". The organization was provided by the union "Melpomene", chairman – Liubov Olenchuk. People’s Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Svalyavchyk and Petro Svalyavchyk represented Ukraine with their works in the Ukrainian Museum of Swidnik. The ensemble "Verkhovyna", which closed the festival, was greeted with warm and sincere applause.
