Ukrainian-Hungarian Science and Education Institute of UzhNU celebrates its anniversary (PHOTOS)

Today, the festive meeting of the Academic Council of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Science and Education Institute of Uzhgorod National University took place in the ILKO Gallery in Uzhgorod.

The meeting was festive, because today the institute celebrates its anniversary. Ten years ago, according to the intergovernmental agreement, which was adopted at the meeting of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Mixed Commission, the corresponding orders of the rector of UzhNU prof. Vegesh MM, and with the assistance of the Hungarian public foundation "Native Land", the liberal arts and sciences faculty with Hungarian language of instruction was founded, which later became the institute.

In the opening speech, the director of the Institute, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor Oleksandr Shpenyk told about the current activities of the institute, its significant role in the development of education and science of Transcarpathia, in deepening of cross-border cooperation and European integration of Ukraine.

Currently, more than two dozen teachers are teaching 230 boys and girls at the institute.

Close scientific contacts are maintained with institutes of linguistics and literary studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Budapest, Debrecen, Szeged, Pecs universities and Nyíregyháza pedagogical institute, as well as with the Hungarology centers of Paris, Rome, Hamburg, with academic institutions and universities of Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
