Today in Uzhgorod, the four day long competetion for the Cup of Ukraine in rhythmic gymnastics completed. The last in the long competition program were demonstrations by members of the national team of Ukraine.
And then there was the long-lasting awards ceremony, as there was a lot of sets of medals.
Quite predictably, Kyiv gymnasts won most of the gold medals. Some of the girls from the capital won as many at 4-5 awards. In addition, two members of the national team of Ukraine Victoria Mazur and Anna Rizatdinova fulfilled the norms for masters of sports of international class.
At the closing ceremony Albina Deryugina, the chairman of Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics of Ukraine highly appreciated the level of competition in Uzhgorod and even expressed pleasant surprise with the debut of our city.
She was supported by the head judge, who noted that Transcarpathia, geographically outskirts of Ukraine, actually proved to be the heart of it, because the participants had rarely received such a warm reception anywhere else. Therefore Albina Deryugina expressed special gratitude to the main organizer Valentina Plavayko.
