In the team competition, the fencing team of Ukraine, which includes Uzhgorod athlete Anatoliy Herey, won gold medals.
On the way to gold medals, our fencers defeated the team of Poland – 30:21, Venezuela – 20:19, and in the semi-final – Israel with a score of 42:41!
Current World Champions – Ukrainians – competed in the final with the number one in the world ranking and the hosts of the tournament – the Frenchmen.
Anatoliy Herey, Bogdan Nikishin, Dmytro Karyuchenko and Maxim Khvorost beat the French team with a score of 40:38!
It is a significant victory for Ukraine and another step to the Olympic Games, which will take place in August in Rio.
