Ukrainian farmers are willing to pay seasonal workers more than foreign ones do

Farmers in Ukraine are willing to pay seasonal workers 1.5 times more than they receive abroad. This was stated by the head of the company "Dary Chernihivshchyny" Andriy Bilyi, the press service of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration reported.

"Foreign farmers pay workers about 800 UAH per day if they hit daily harvesting plan of 90-100 kg. During the harvesting season, Ukrainian farmers are willing to pay UAH 1,200 a day for the same performance,” – he said.

In addition, it is noted that the cooperative "Dary Chernihivshchyny", where the only shock freezing plant in the north-eastern region is being built, plans to increase the capacity from the current 8 tons per day to 20 tons per day.
