“Ukraine in Time”: The Symphony Orchestra of the Transcarpathian Philharmonic presented an art project in Hungary

A long and thorough preparation preceded this trip. It all began when the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic took part in this year’s competition of cultural and art projects, announced by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. And they were among the winners: about three hundred best works were selected out of more than seven hundred project applications, and they received grants from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. The project of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Society involved an international partnership and was aimed at presenting Ukrainian professional music art abroad. This plan was implemented through two different concert programs: in the city of Varpoloto, Uzhgorod musicians played a big holiday concert featuring the works of Ukrainian composers, and in Budapest they performed at the Church of St. Michael with the concert-requiem for the victims of the 1932-1933 Holodomor.

In addition to the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the Ukrainian Culture Society in Hungary (chairwoman – Yaroslava Khortyani) and the State Self-Government of Ukrainians of Hungary in Hungary in the city of Varpoloto (chairwoman – Yaroslava Sabo) also helped greatly in the implementation of the project "Ukraine in Time".

The art project "Ukraine in Time" will finish on November 22, in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic with the concert of the symphony orchestra on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor.
