Ukraine-Hungary-Italy – this was the route of the Kazakh illegal immigrant

Last weekend, at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, border guards of the Chop detachment detained another "seeker of European happiness."

While patrolling the area, officers of the "Tisa" unit detected an unknown person who was moving toward the border. Officers of the Task Force, who arrived at the scene within minutes, detained a man one hundred meters away from the border. The offender told border guards that he was a citizen of Kazakhstan, but had no ID to prove it. He also explained that, seeking for better living conditions, he intended to illegally get to Italy and find relatives on his father’s side, who once was a sailor.

The offender was delivered to the unit to ascertain the circumstances of the offense and draw up administrative and procedural documents. The decision on legal liability and his further fate will be taken in court.
