Entrants will be able to submit documents for full-time education from 1 to 31 of July, the minimum score of external testing certificate remains at 124 points for non-core subjects, and 140 – for core subjects.
Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports announced the rules of enrollment campaign for the year 2013. This is stated in the decree number 1244, published on the ministry’s website.
The new rules do not differ from the rules of admission in 2012. Entrants will be able to submit documents for full-time education from 1 to July of 31. The minimum score of external testing certificate remains at 124 points for non-core subjects, and 140 – for core subjects.
Graduates of the training courses of the universities will receive 20 extra points and winners of national competitions – up to 50. Applicants will be able apply simultaneously in 5 schools for 3 specialties in each of them.
The first ranking lists of applicants shall be made public on August 1. Admission to full-time state-financed education shall be made by August 11, writes Kommersant-Ukraine.
However, under the new regulations, foreign nationals will now be able to receive education in Ukraine only on contract basis. A student shall make payment for training only after a contract with university has been signed and after the order for his admission has been published. Note that earlier international students could study on a state-funding basis like citizens of Ukraine.
In addition, the new rules preserve the opportunity of using the Unified electronic database on education, whose work in 2012 caused a lot of negative reviews.
According to the Ministry of Education, in 2013 the number of graduates of the 9th and 11th grades will exceed 634 million people, about 48 thousand less than in 2012.
