The Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that Kyiv and Bratislava had signed a memorandum of reverse gas supplies to Ukraine.
He said this at the press conference in Kyiv on Monday, the "Interfax-Ukraine" reported.
"Ukraine and the Slovak transit company signed today a memorandum on cooperation in the energy field, which provides for reverse gas supplies from the territory of the Slovak Republic," – Yatsenyuk said.
He said that the memorandum provides for the supply of gas in amount of up to 8 billion cubic meters per year.
Yatsenyuk said that after certain studies the amount of gas supply may be increased. He also added that along with the memorandum, they had signed all white papers on the matter.
At the same time, the prime minister did not elaborate on when the reverse gas supplies from Slovakia will begin.
