Two people were killed and two others were injured in an accident in Svalyava district (PHOTO)

Another accident with tragic consequences occurred on the infamous Kyiv-Chop highway.

In the evening, on August 28, the police received information about a traffic accident on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Nelipyno in Slalyava district. 

As it turned out, near Nelipyno, a "Tavriya", driven by a 57-year-old female resident of the village of Bilasovytsya in Volovets district, collided with a car "Volkswagen Cuddy", driven by a 48-year-old entrepreneur from Svalyava. The "Volkswagen" was followed by a "Toyota", driven by 25-year-old resident of the village of Stroyne in Svalyava district. The driver had no time to react and ran into the back of the "Volkswagen".

According to preliminary information, the guilty party of the accident was the said female driver of the "Tavriya", who lost the control while making a turn and drove onto the oncoming lane. Unfortunately, as a result of the collision she and her 55-year-old husband died. The driver of the "Volkswagen" and his 43-year-old wife with injuries of varying severity were taken to hospital. The driver of the "Toyota", fortunately, was not injured.

The twisted cars were delivered to the police impound lot. The criminal proceeding over this fact has been initiated.
