On October 20, Transcarpathian rescuers destroyed an 82 mm mortar shell from the time of the Second World War.
It was found during the repair of the highway between the villages of Chervone and Demychi in Uzhgorod district, the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region informs.
Yesterday, October 19, Transcarpathian bomb experts also had a job to do. They removed and destroyed an explosive object which had been found during excavation in the field between the village of Tyihlash and the city of Chop in Uzhgorod district. Bomb experts identified the found object as an 82 mm mortar shell from the Second World War period.
During the additional inspection of the surrounding areas in both cases, no other ammunition was detected.
