Two minibuses with cigarettes were detained on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border

This morning, at the checkpoint "Tisa", border guards prevented two attempts of cigarette smuggling in vehicles that were leaving Ukraine.

At seven in the morning, during the inspection of a "Renault" minibus with Ukrainian registration, border guards, together with the customs officers, noticed signs of interference in its design features. The vehicle was sent for an in-depth inspection, during which a cache was detected in the vehicle. A hollow space was fitted in the bottom, between the driver’s seat and the luggage compartment, and 740 packs of cigarettes "Prima" were hidden there.

Twenty minutes later, border guards managed to find another cigarette cache. A 42-year-old driver of a minibus "Fiat" hid contraband tobacco products in the same place as his 23-year-old predecessor. This time, the border and customs group prevented the smuggling of 630 packs of tobacco products to European countries.

In both cases, the cigarettes and the minibuses in which they were being transported will be seized.  The value of the confiscated items is currently being established.
