On Tuesday, November 18, at 13.00, in Uzhgorod Press Club, there will be the meeting on two art events in Uzhgorod, which will take place on the same day – November 27: the opening of monument to John Lord and the concert of the band Rock-H with orchestra.
The idea to create a monument to Jon Lord, leader of the band Deep Purple, in Uzhgorod sprung up about two years ago. The group of enthusiasts has provided an opportunity for all of Uzhgorod residents to join this campaign, launching in the "Pid zamkom" cafe the collection of metal coins as a symbolic material for the sculpture.
The unveiling will take place at 16.00 on the embankment of the Uzh river near the first school.
After the unveiling of the monument, in the Uzhgorod Drama Theatre, there will be a concert featuring the band Rock-H and the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Orchestra plus special guests. This is the band’s first solo concert in 6 years of its existence to be held in the great hall (with a capacity of over 700 seats). They produced many new versions of their songs that will be performed in a variety of ways from orchestral to a cappella. There will be also premieres of new songs.
You will hear more information about the two extraordinary events from:
– Irina Yantso, the manager of Rock-H;
– Victor Yantso, frontman of Rock-H
– Mykhailo Kolodko, sculptor;
– Pavlo Chuchka, entrepreneur, deputy of Uzhgorod City Council.
