Two brothers from Uzhgorod district, who killed a man, will be imprisoned

Two brothers from Uzhgorod district, who beat a man to death, have been sentenced to 7 and 8 years imprisonment

Uzhgorod Interdistrict Prosecutor proved at trial the guilt of the two residents of the village of Irlyava in the commission of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – grievous bodily harm, committed by group of people, which caused the victim’s death.

According to Deputy Interdistrict Prosecutor of Uzhgorod Serhiy Vovkanych, the pre-trial investigation revealed that two brothers, one of whom had already been tried, while being drunk, had badly beaten their fellow villager. The 43-year-old man died from injuries in a hospital intensive care unit.

Therefore, Uzhgorod City and District Court, fully agreeing with the arguments of the prosecutors, senteced the brothers to 7 and 8 years imprisonment.
