On July 1, at about two o’clock in the morning, on a segment of the Ukrainian border with Hungary, between the villages of Esen and Mineralne, a Border Guard Service squad "C" of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine detained two men – a 54-year-old and a 60-year-old Transcarpathians, who were trying to illegally cross the border.
Four Transcarpathians from 20 to 25 years old, jumped into the van of the truck, and having caused an accident with a service car of the border guard squad, disappeared.
During the arrest of the fugitives, border guards used signaling means in order to lighten the area, which might have caused ignition of the fugitives’ vehicle.
Thus, at about 2.45 a.m., four people who had received various degrees of injuries, were found on the side of the road. One of them died on the spot before the ambulance arrived. According to doctors, the received injuries are characteristic of an accident.
Currently, law enforcement officers are taking measures, aimed at establishing the circumstances, finding witnesses and eyewitnesses, the check is being carried out in accordance with the Article 97 of the CPC of Ukraine.
