Two Africans failed to get to the EU

While taking the special measures against illegal migration, border guards of the Chop detachment arrested people from Africa who were trying to illegally enter the EU.

While patrolling the area, the border guards of the "Stuzhytsya" unit in Velyky Berezny district, one kilometer away from the Ukrainian-Slovak border detected two people who were moving towards the border. Border guards immediately caught up with the unknown men and detained them. The men said that they were citizens of Somalia, but had no IDs to prove it. They told border guards that they were going to illegally enter the territory of the European Union to seek a better life.

The offenders were taken to the border unit to ascertain the circumstances of the offense and draw up administrative and procedural documents. The decision on legal liability and the further fate of detainees will be taken in court – the press-service of Chop border guard detachment informed.
