On July 3, a citizen of Ukraine tried to move contraband cigarettes across the border, but he was caught by officers of the Transcarpathian customs office. It occured at the customs checkpoint "Vylok" of the Transcarpathian customs office. A "VW Passat" with Hungarian license plates briven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived to the "green corridor" control lane.
Given the results of the risk analysis, the vehicle was transferred from the "green corridor" to the "red corridor" for an in-depth inspection.
During the in-depth customs inspection of the vehicle and the driver’s personal belongings, they found undeclared during the oral questioning cigarettes "Marlboro lights" with foreign excise stamps in amount of 654 packs hidden from customs control. They were in specially made caches. Customs officers also found 190 packs of filtered "Marlboro touch less smell" in solid package with excise stamps of Ukraine in the spare wheel.
The citizen of Ukraine explained that he had purchased the tobacco products to resell them in Hungary, and had hidden them in the vehicle himself. He also reported that he had previously been brought to responsibility for violation of customs rules on November 3, 2014.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine has committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially made caches impeding their detection. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report on violation of customs rules, the goods being the direct objects of violation of customs regulations (cigarettes) and the vehicle with specially made cahces (passenger car) were seized, the press service of the SFS in Transcarpathia informed.
