This week there was another hearing on the case of Malesh brothers, who are accused of smuggling cigarettes and cocaine through an underground tunnel to Slovakia, as well as unauthorized occupation of land.
The representative of Uzhgorod City Council, which is a civil plaintiff in the case, said that the owners of the land plot at 57 Zaporizka street, had illegally annexed 0.04 hectares to it and enclosed it with fence. Therefore, the defendants must pay the material damage caused to the City Council in the amount of slightly more than 35 thousand hryvnias.
In addition to the representative of the municipality, the witnesses in the case of smuggling tunnel appeared in the court. Most of them were residents of Zaporizka street and workers who were involved in the construction of the house and the fence around the mansion. Almost all of them said that they knew the elder brother – Vasyl – as the actual owner of the house on Zaporizka street, that is they had seen him there more than once. The hearing will continue.
