In Uzhgorod, trucks are banned from entering Kapitulna street. Under the decision of the Commission of traffic safety and coordination dd. April 4, 2013, the entry of large transport to this street shall be restricted. The traffic is only allowed for special vehicles, others have to drive on Pidhirna and Voloshin streets.
The demand to ban the traffic of trucks was submitted to the City Council by the NGO "Carpathian Way" after repeated requests of representatives of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and also because they believe that the oldest street should be pedestrian only like in all other countries of the world.
"All travel agencies, please note the ban on the entry of buses, we recommend to stop buses on Koryatovich square, near Perechyn bus station, or near the "Pidzamkovy" park, – Oleksandr Koval, the head of the "Tourinform Transcarpathia" says.
