In late November, traditionally the athletic competition Beh o štít mesta Michalovce takes place on the day of the expulsion of the fascist invaders from the Slovak city of Michalovce. Young athletes compete at distances of 500 to 4,000 meters, and adults run at sunset.
This year, despite the low temperature (+ 1D) and strong wind, at 18.00, 107 athletes ran on the distance with a total length of 7,600 meters. 25-year-old Serhiy Raschupkin from Mukachevo won the race with the result of 25 minutes and 20 seconds, 32-year-old Eduard Hapak from Uzhgorod finished 13 seconds later, and 24-year-old Slovak Patrick Visnjovski won the bronze medal.
