Trimesters may be introduced in Ukrainian schools. What it is?

Trimesters in the school year 2017-2018 – it is a relatively new, very unusual for our children form of school time organization, the ukr.life informs. Unlike the conventional system, here the school time is distributed evenly, that is divided into equal parts, and intervals between studying and holidays are almost identical. According to experts, such organization of educational process helps to distribute the burden on students without causing fatigue even in elementary school.

In the trimester education system, there is a total of six studying periods – trimesters, and six rest periods – holidays. The duration of each trimester is five or six weeks, the duration of the holidays is one week, except two-week Christmas holidays and three-month summer holidays.

Holidays in the school year 2017-2018 by trimesters

Currently, the preliminary schedule for school holidays by trimesters for the school year 2017-2018 is as follows: five (sometimes six) weeks of classes followed by a week off.

1 trimester / autumn holidays – from 2 to 8 of October inclusive;

2 trimester / autumn holidays Stage 2 – from 17 to 23 of November inclusive;

3 trimester / winter holidays – from December 27 to January 8 inclusive;

4 trimester / winter holidays Stage 2 – from 21 to 27 of February (sometimes these are called the spring break);

5 trimester / spring holidays – from 10 to 16 of April inclusive;

6 trimester / summer holidays – from June 1 to August 31 inclusive.
