Travel passport has become cheaper

On October 1, the Law of Ukraine amending, in particular, the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On State Fee" came into force. According to the legislative innovations, no state fee shall be charged for issuance of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad.

That is, travel passport has become 170 hryvnia cheaper. With the abolition of the state fee, claims of some activists, who insisted that the cost of document is equal to the amount of the fee, lost their relevance.

Now, in order to receive a passport for traveling abroad, one must pay two obligatory payments: the cost of administrative services (this money remain in the local budget) and the cost of the form. Today, the total amount of payment for issuance of a travel passport with contactless electronic carrier (chip) is 391.47 UAH. Passport without electronic chip will be cheaper – 325.47 UAH. In the case of urgent issuance, a passport with an electronic chip will cost 478.62 UAH, without a chip – 412.62 UAH.
