Consumers of the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC can apply for compensation for used natural gas

On July 1, 2014, the implementation of the program of compensation for housing and communal services started in Ukraine, which is particularly relevant during the heating season. Families with low incomes can take advantage of this program in order to avoid debts and disconnection from gas supply during the heating season.

To receive the compensation, consumers of the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC may apply with the appropriate application to the social protection authority at the place of registration. The compensation is calculated from the month of application for it until the end of the heating period 2014-2015. 

The procedure for the appointment of compensation is regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On strengthening social protection due to increase in prices and tariffs for communal services." Families, whose average monthly gross income (for the previous six months) has not exceed the amount of the subsistence level for a family, are eligible for compensation, regardless of whether the family enjoys a subsidy or not.   The amount of compensation is defined as the difference between the amount of payment for services (within the limits of consumption) after the increase of prices and tariffs and the amount of payment that the family paid before changes in prices and tariffs for services.

 "To receive compensation, the family has to pay their part of the payment for utilities, otherwise compensation ceases to be provided. The amount of the compensation is transferred monthly to enterprises providing communal services and credited to personal accounts of the applicant" – the Deputy Chairman of the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC for gas supply and accounting Victoria Tomynets said.

 In addition, the compensation is terminated if the applicant does not pay for utilities, other than for reasons of the delay in payment of wages, pensions, as evidenced by appropriate documents.

 The last heating season, more than 8000 families of the region enjoyed subsidies for payment for consumed gas. Due to the increase in gas prices, the number of consumers, who will be granted compensation during the heating period of 2014-15, may significantly increase.
