Transcarpathians will be fined for children’s poor attendance at schools

Parents of schoolchildren can pay a serious fine for their children’s poor attendance at schools.
This is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No. 684, the RBC Ukraine reported. The document states that if an underage student miss the school for 10 working days in a row for unknown reasons or without good reason, the educational institution is obliged to immediately inform the Children’s Service, and that, if necessary, is obliged to inform the police.
It is specified that illness, vacation with parents or other family circumstances are valid reasons for a child’s absence at school. One of the parents is required to inform the school that the child will be absent and submit a written statement.
If the child did not attend the lessons due to illness and went to the doctor, then a medical certificate may be a proof of a valid reason. In case of absence of such certificate, then it is necessary to submit a statement from the father or the mother that the child was at home under their care during the appropriate period.
If the child regularly misses classes for no good reason, and the school does not have information about his or her whereabouts, then parents can be held administratively liable.
