The chairman of the PSC number 725 in Uzhgorod, which is located in the building of the Linguistic Gymnasium on Vysoka street, categorically refused to perform the anthem of Ukraine before opening the polling station, the Zakarpattya online informed.
This was suggested by the observer from Poroshenko Oleksandr Doktor.
The chairman of the commission in response to this suggestion said that he would rather resign than allow to perform the anthem.
Since the performance of the national anthem is not provided by law, they did not insist, however, this reaction is more than strange.
This station opened on time, first voters were waiting at the door of the PSC as early as at 7.40.
In general, local publications report timely and organized beginning of the day of elections at all Transcarpathian stations. The peak of voting is traditionally expected after Sunday services in churches.
