Transcarpathians will be able to learn Hungarian from scratch

The Ukrainian-Hungarian Educational and Scientific Institute of Uzhgorod National University is constantly developing and, in addition to expanding the range of various opportunities, a new independent specialty will emerge at the Department of Hungarian Philology. This was reported by the ua.kiszo.net.

The head of the Department of Hungarian Philology Khrystyna ZEYKAN told our publication that, as more and more parents enroll their children in kindergartens and schools with Hungarian language of instruction and study the Hungarian language themselves, we considered it necessary to open a specialty, which will give Ukrainian people the opportunity to learn Hungarian and English at the same time. She noted that it would be a new opportunity in Transcarpathia; currently it is possible to learn the language from scratch only in Kyiv. She noted that students will receive a scholarship according to their performance, and at the end of the course they will be able to receive a diploma certifying their level of knowledge of not only Hungarian but also English as well.

The plan has been compiled, so we are waiting for applications from students. Applicants must submit a certificate of EIT on Ukrainian language and literature, English (foreign language), geography or history of Ukraine. And those, who wish to enter the traditional specialty "Hungarian language and literature", this year will be able to take entrance examination on Hungarian language and literature in the premises of the university.
