Transcarpathians paid tribute to Taras Shevchenko (PHOTOS)

On Tuesday, March 10, Transcarpathians paid tribute to the Great Poet. On the occasion of the 201st anniversary of the birth and the 154th anniversary of the death of Taras Shevchenko, regional and city officials, as well as police and military officers, representatives of NGOs and political parties gathered on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod.

Accompanied by the Transcarpathian folk choir, they laid flowers at the foot of the monument to the Poet.

Then, priests of various denominations held a prayer and addressed the participants.

After the official ceremony, the Popular Assembly took place at the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
