A press conference of representatives of the city of Kosice on the occasion of the Days of Ukraine in Slovakia, which will be held in Košice on 19-28 of April, took place in the Uzhgorod Press Club. The Days of Ukraine in Kosice will offer a cultural program, exhibitions, Ukrainian fashion and design, concerts, investment forum, workshops and discussions.
Eduard Burash, a representative of Kosice mayor on cooperation with the city of Uzhgorod and Ukraine, said: "I am delighted that the partners of the Days of Ukraine 2016 in Kosice are the Uzhgorod Press Club and the newspaper "RIO". Our program is very veried and interesting.The Slovak-Ukrainian business forum SUF 2016 will also take place. So, all are welcomed!", – E. Burash said.
The Days of Ukraine in Kosice will start on April 19. The main program will take palce in Kosice cultural center.
The event will start with the Opening Day of the documentary photo exhibition "War for Peace", organized by the Slovak-Ukrainian partnership center and the discussion forum "Café Europa" on the current situation in Ukraine.
In addition to culture, Ukraine’s culinary traditions will also be presented in Slovakia. For example, Ukrainians, who live in Slovakia, will cook borscht (in Kosice, there is even a Ukrainian restaurant "Barvinok").
This year Košice is the European Capital of Sport. Therefore, during the Days of Ukraine, a petanque tournament will take place.
The Days of Ukraine in Slovakia were supported and approved in the official calendar of activities under Slovakia’s presidency in the Council of the European Union. "The event is supported by the mayor of Kosice. We are expecting members of the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovakia. Overall, there will be several hundred participants from Ukraine. We look forward to presentation of Transcarpathian cheese and wine, as well as products of the hat factory", – E. Burash said.
