The project, that has no analogues in the world – the III Holiday of Christmas toys, which runs until January 14 – has started in Kyiv. Once again, hundreds of families will gather at the Center for Ukrainian culture and art. For a simple, at first glance, Christmas decoration unites adults and children, especially when the toy is made manually in the family. This is not just a toy – it is a relic of the family.
The organizers collected the best vintage and contemporary Christmas decorations, paintings, photographs, telegrams, cards and other Christmas paraphernalia from all over Ukraine. There is a unique collection of Christmas toys from families of famous Ukrainians, even toys that belonged to the famous poets Pavlo Tychyna and Vasyl Stus. And also Yulia Koroleva’s family collection of old Soviet Christmas ornaments, handmade glass Christmas balls from the creative studio "Snowflake", eco toys, Christmas toys made in decoupage, knitting, crochet, paper decorations, straw-work techniques and even Christmas Eater eggs.
During the holiday, there will be family workshops on Christmas toys making. Transcarpathians are also invited to participate. Because each region has its own traditions of making Christmas decorations or Christmas paraphernalia.
