Transcarpathian wood will be put on electronic record

During the harvesting, all wood will be equipped with tags with bar code. With the inclusion of information from electronic tags to mobile terminals, each log will be identified by cubage, structure, plot, where the wood was harvested. This will enable to clearly trace the traffic of each assortment to consumers from the cutting area.

The introduction of electronic registration of the wood will completely prevent circulation of wood, obtained by criminal means. In addition, it has been calculated that the electronic registration of wood will not significantly affect the cost of products.
In general, the introduction of electronic registration costs about 34 million hryvnias from forestry enterprises’ own funds. It should recoup within 2-2.5 years, which in the future will increase the profitability of forestry enterprises.
According to the Head of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine Viktor Sivets, the efficiency of electronic registration has been confirmed for the second consecutive year during the Christmas tree campaign.
