Transcarpathian volunteer Valeriy Marynets was awarded with the Order “For courage”

Since the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity, Valeriy together with nephews Vlad and Yevhen took an active part in the Maidan, the Holos Karpat informs.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine №11 / 2017 of January 21, 2017 "On awarding state awards of Ukraine", junior sergeant MARYNETS Valeriy was awarded with the Order "For courage" of the III degree for personal courage, dedication and professionalism exhibited during fightings and performance of military duties.

Valeriy Marynets was born in 1977, a native of the village of Keretsky in Svalyava district of Transcarpathian region, now living mainly in Kyiv, Transcarpathian volunteer and human rights activist Vitaliy Gregor informed.

On August 29, 2014, after an exhausting battle at Ilovaysk near the village of Krasnoselsky, Vitaliy Marynets, was wounded to the head; along with other soldiers of the battalion "Donbas" was surrounded and captured by Russian regular troops. Only 4 months later, on December 26, 2014, he was released during the exchange of prisoners together with other Ukrainian hostages.
