Transcarpathian tourism potential was presented at the 22nd International Tourism Fair “Ukraine ‘2015”

Transcarpathia presented its tourism opportunities at the 22 International Tourism Fair "Ukraine ‘2015" that took place in Kyiv.

The tourism potential of our region was presented at the stand "Transcarpathia Invites".  The Department of Tourism and Resorts, representatives of Perechyn and Khust district administrations and some entities of tourist activity took part in this exhibition.

Several events took place at the exhibition, the most important of which was the presentation of the functional of the Department of Tourism Development and the discussion of strategic directions of sustainable development of tourism in Ukraine. Also, there was a meeting with representatives of structural subdivisions on tourism from all over Ukraine chaired by Ivan Liptuga, the Head of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Economical Development of Ukraine.

During the said meeting the head of the department Denys Mann stressed that tourism in Ukraine should be developing more actively, and only a department at the Ministry is not enough for this; in his opinion, there should be an executive body. He also drew attention to the need for more active work towards the promotion of the tourism brand "Ukraine" through the creation of a Ukrainian TV channel in Europe and on other continents, joint presentation of the tourism product by regions of Ukraine and more active work on the development of infrastructure in tourism.

During the exhibition event, many promotional and informational materials about Transcarpathia were distributed, and a number of meetings with representatives of other regions and foreign countries on issues related to tourism development both in the region and in Ukraine were held.
