Transcarpathian soldiers, who have taken part in combat operations, will receive the status of combatants

This was reported by the Acting Director of the Department of Social Welfare of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Anna Morozyuk.

"According to the amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of their Social Protection" dd. July 1, soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Security Service and other military formations established under the laws of Ukraine, that have defended the territorial integrity of our country and taken part in the anti-terrorist operation, are recognized as combatants", – Anna Morozyuk said.

According to her, combatants and their families will be covered with a range of benefits provided by the above law, including: free drugs and medicines, free provision of sanatorium-resort treatment, 75 percent discount on the fee for housing and utilities, etc.

Thus, the status of a combatant shall be provided by the military commissariat at the place of registration of a soldier based on the appropriate records in the military ticket.

"After receiving the certificate, these people are registered at the bodies of social welfare at the place of registration or residence and listed in the register of beneficiaries. Benefits take effect only after acquiring the status of a combatant"- the Acting Director of the Department of Social Welfare of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Anna Morozyuk said.
