"Ukraine in time" is the title of an art project, which the symphony orchestra of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic will soon present in Hungary. The aim of the project is to present Ukrainian professional music art abroad with an emphasis on historical retrospective. In particular, on November 17 at 17.00, in the Concert Hall of the House of Arts in the city of Varpalota, there will be a big concert featuring the music of the founders of the Transcarpathian composing school I.Marton and D.Zador, and well-known contemporary Ukrainian composers M.Skoryk, Ye.Stankovych, V.Telychko.
And on November 18, at 13.00, in the church of St. Michael (Budapest), there will be a concert-requiem dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine. The event is intended to honor the memory of millions of innocent victims of the man-made famine of 1932-1933 and to attract the international community’s attention to one of the most tragic pages of the history of the Ukrainian people. The program will feature works by M.Skoryk, Ye.Stankovych, V.Telychko, D.Zador, "Prayer for Ukraine".
Together with the Symphony Orchestra of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, soloists Diana Havata (cello), Ferenc Tomych (clarinet), Taras Popovych (flute), Istvan Khalus (baritone) will take part in the project. Natalia Pitsur will recite poems by Taras Shevchenko. Conductor – Honored Artist of Ukraine Victoria Svalyavchyk-Tsanko.
The art project "Ukraine in time" was made possible thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, and its implementation was actively promoted by the Ukrainian Culture Society in Hungary. The performances of the symphony orchestra aim to adequately present the Ukrainian national cultural product as a contemporary European artistic phenomenon, and contribute to the formation of tolerant cultural and educational relations between Ukraine and Hungary.
The project will conclude with a concert to the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor, which will be held on November 22 at 18.30 in the Great Hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.
