Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater is moving from Mukachevo to Khust

This administrative decision was adopted by Hennadiy Moskal.
He explains: after Mukachevo city council, without any warning and coordination with the Department of Culture of the RSA seized the premises of the Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater from the institution, transferred it to the balance sheet of the city department of culture and decided to establish the municipal theater, the Regional Theatre moves from Mukachevo to Khust.

– This year, Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater celebrates 70th annivesary – H.Moskal said. – This place has a name and history, so the decision of Mukachevo city government to take away its promises does not mean it will be closed. The Regional Drama and Comedy Theater moves to Khust and will be located in the premises of Khust District House of Culture. The premises will be repaired at the expense of Khust City Council, and the theater will be funded from the regional budget.
By the way, the building of Khust DHC is much more spacious than the building in Mukachevo (there are 280 seats here vs 150 in Mukachevo). Khust is the former capital of Carpathian Ukraine, and in recent years the city has been thriving. Last year, Khust won in the prestigious rating of "7 Wonders of Ukraine" so moving the regional theater to this city is logical. We will update the theater company and will request to grant the theater academic status and the actors – titles of Honored and People’s Artists of Ukraine.
