Transcarpathian Regional Council asks the Minister of Defense to withdraw the personnel of the 128th Brigade from the front

Taking into account the repeated appeals from the citizens of the region, the deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, during the third plenary meeting of the 7th session appealed to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak on the necessity of rotation of the personnel of the 128th separate mechanized mountain infantry brigade to restore the combat capability of the unit and to raise the morale of the troops.

The document reads: "Since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine, the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade has continiously been on the frontline. This combat unit is composed mainly of Transcarpathians and is deployed in Transcarpathian region. The servicemen of the 128th brigade have been showing examples of patriotism, heroism, courage and endurance. We are proud and proud of our fellow countrymen.

Local self-government bodies, executive authorities, Transcarpathians, volunteers, and entrepreneurs have constantly been providing the fighters with equipment and food, etc.

Unfortunately, there are killed and wounded almost every day. Deaths of our fellow countrymen are particularly painful and unbearable for all Transcarpathians. It is difficult to relieve the grief and heal the wounds of those, who have lost their loved ones in this undeclared war with the Russian aggressor. Since the beginning of July this year alone, four soldiers of the 128th brigade have been killed.

Given the numerous appeals from the public, activists and relatives of the servicemen, the deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, asked to withdraw the personnel of the 128 brigade from the front in order to restore the combat capability of the unit and raise the morale of the fighters and to resolve the issue of their rotation as soon as possible.
