Transcarpathian pyrotechnics continue to destroy ammunition (PHOTOS)

With the arrival of autumn, pyrotechnics of the special rescue unit still have a lot of work. Nearly every day, the Rescue Service receives reports of detection of objects similar to explosive.

It is not surprising, because in autumn, people often go to the forest for mushrooms, or carry out earthworks, often finding objects that pose a danger. Since the beginning of 2016, the group of pyrotechnic work has made 98 trips during which the rescuers seized and destroyed 5,131 pieces of munitions.

Those are: 5 aircraft bombs, 193 artillery shells, 415 mortar shells, 168 grenades and 4350 rounds of ammunition and more. Last week alone, the pyrotechnics destroyed 4 mortar shells of 82 to 160 mm caliber, 1 artillery shell of 152 mm caliber and 374 cartridges of World War II period.

All dangerous objects were destroyed. With this in mind, the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region once again reminds the rules of conduct in case of detection of explosive devices: If you see a suspicious object, do not touch it.

 Mark the place to let other people know about the danger and report any explosive device to the Rescue Service by calling 101.

Remember that dangerous explosives shall be removed and destroyed in designated places only by experts.
