The driver of a Volkswagen Sharan on the highway "Mukachevo-Rohatyn-Lviv" lost control and drove off the roadway. As a result of the accident, the driver and a passenger died on the spot. The police are conducting the investigation.
Last night, around 1.45, the police received a report of an accident with victims in the village of Yasinya in Rakhiv district.
Officers of the police investigating team at the scene established the preliminary circumstances of the accident. As the police found out, in the village of Yasinya, the driver of the Volkswagen Sharan moving towards the village of Kvasy lost control, drove off his lane and hit a concrete fence. As a result of the accident, two local residents, a 33-year-old driver and his 35-year-old passenger, died on the spot.
Criminal proceeding over the incident has been initiated under Part 2 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victim). The car was taken to Rakhiv Police impound lot. The investigation, during which all circumstances and the cause of the accident will be established, is underway.
