Transcarpathian police detained a man who was shooting at a Mukachevo resident’s car (PHOTOS)

Investigators detained the person who had made shots with a firearm at a local resident’s car and injured him. The court will soon consider the request of the investigator for a pre-trial restraint against the suspect  
On March 16 in the evening, a resident of Mukachevo called the police and reported that an unknown man driving a car "Volkswagen Passat" had made several shots at his car. One of the bullets hit the victim, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  
Police officers immediately arrived at the scene to find out that there had been a conflict between the shooter and the victim. The offender impeded the movement of the victim’s car forcing him to stop. Then he fired several shots, one of which wounded a man. The offender then left the scene.  
The investigators initiated criminal proceedings over the incident. Officers of the criminal investigation department of the regional police found out that a 33-year-old resident of Mukachevo was involved in the crime. 
Yesterday, April 16, investigators of the Main Office together with the officers of the criminal police department and the department of strategic investigations conducted a series of searches in the framework of criminal proceedings on the basis of warrants issued by the Uzhgorod City and District Court. Thereafter, under the procedural control of the prosecutor’s office, the investigators notified the man that he was suspected of committing the crimes under  Part 1 of Article 263 and Part 2 of Article 15-Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, illegal use of weapons and attempted murder. 
At present, the prosecution is preparing a petition to the Uzhgorod City and District Court to impose a pre-trial restraint on the suspect. They will request custody without bail. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
