Transcarpathian nationalists wrote a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the situation that occurred in Svalyava

OPEN LETTER TO THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF UKRAINE MR. PAVLO KLIMKIN

Dear Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, we report that on Dec. 4, 2015, there was a hostile act towards Ukraine committed by a Czech parliamentarian, representative of the Czech Republic in the European Parliament Tomio Okamura. In particular, in the city Svalyava in Transcarpathian region, during the meeting with local Rusyns, he declared his support for the referendum in Transcarpathia to recognize Rusyns as a separate nation and to grant them autonomy. He also noted that Ukraine can not be part of the European Union since it is a undemocratic state (link – http://made-inussr.livejournal.com/254346.html).

We interpret this statement by the representative of the Czech Parliament as a hostile act of the Czech Republic towards Ukraine and an attempted violation of its territorial integrity. As evidence, we provide link to the video recording of Tomio Okamura’s speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESoYC-n6KEQ.

We appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine that such actions of the Czech parliamentarian should be recognized as an unfriendly act against Ukraine. The MFA of Ukraine should send a protest note to the Czech Republi whose president, Milos Zeman, supports the military and political aggression of Russia against Ukraine.
We call upon all state agencies, law enforcement agencies and the public not to be passive. Let’s defend our land and our home!
