Transcarpathian Music and Drama Theater took part in the Festival “Wandering Stars”

Transcarpathian Regional Music Drama Theatre named after Sherehiy brothers successfully toured in Kyiv. On September 10, the theater company took part in the XIX International Festival "Wandering Stars" in memory of Sholom Aleichem, which was attendted by ten companies from Kyiv, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Chernihiv, Poltava, Uzhgorod and Tel Aviv. The Transcarpathian theater presented the play "My Fair Esther" based on a Hebrew legend (directed by Mykhailo Milmeister).  

On September 11, in the National Music Academy, the theater presented the performance "A good summer in Paris…" based on the play by Oleksandr Havrosh. The audience warmly received the "intelligent drama" about the founder of the Transcarpathian school of painting Adalbert Erdelyi. After the performance, representatives of Kyiv theatrical community, Transcarpathian diaspora took place in the discussion. The director of the production, People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Filippov was surprised by how little people in the capital know about Adalbert Erdelyi. September 12, in the House of Officers, the theater showed the play "What are willows weeping about?" by Karpenko-Kary (directed by Vasyl Shershun) and "Mowgli" (directed by Natalia Timoshkina). On September 13, the company toured in Bila Tserkva, and September 14 – in Irpin.

Director of the theatre Vasyl Mariukhnych considers the tour successful, because performances were well received by the audience.    

Once the Transcarpathian Music and Drama Theater returned from the Kyiv festival, they were invited to Dnipro. There, theater companies will gather to present performances dedicated to the ATO. The Transcarpathian theater will present Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" in a modern interpretation.
