Transcarpathian long-livers: 22 people have crossed the 100 year mark!

22 long-lived people who have turned 100 and more years live in Transcarpathian region. More than 360 people have celebrated their 95th anniversary. One of those long-livers is 95-year-old Oleksandr Shchurin. Despite his great age, the pensioner is keenly interested in various news, including those in the pension sector. This was reported by the Pension Fund of Transcarpathian region.
Shchurin was born on May 29, 1924 in Russia. He began his service in law enforcement in 1949 as a district officer in the village of Dobrosillya (now Bene) in Beregovo district of Transcarpathia. For 32 years, Shchurin worked as a district inspector of the Beregovo police.
In 1983, after 34 years of service in law enforcement, Oleksandr Shchurin retired.
Oleksandr Shchurin was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War "For Courage" and the badge "Police Excellence" for his feats on the fronts with Japan, service in the Armed Forces and law-enforcement bodies. He was awarded the medal "60th anniversary of liberation of Ukraine from fascist invaders". At the age of 90, Shchurin received the Medal "For Merits".
And in November 2019, the most famous long-lived resident of Ukraine – Boris Paton – turned 101 years od. On his birthday, he was at work. His mood and health are excellent.
