As reported to on the page "Transcarpathian Legion" – 128th brigade: "An enemy sniper killed a soldier of our brigade, Vitaliy Horbatiuk. He was performing combat duty at one of the advanced observing positions. The sniper bullet inflicted injuries incompatible with life.
Vitaliy honorably performed his military duty, faithfully served at the most dangerous positions – Butivka mine, where he was wounded, came back to the position Zenit near Donetsk airport, and near the village of Opytne where sniper bullet ended his life on the eve of his birthday. In two days, Vitaliy, father of three children, would turn only 39.
The command and military colleagues express sincere condolences to the family and friends of the fallen hero.
Rest in peace, Soldier!"
