Transcarpathian law enforcement officers inspect information on misconduct by police officers

The management of the Main Office of the National Police initiated verification of information according to which Uzhgorod police officers used physical violence during interrogation of persons. Yesterday, December 11, while monitoring the Internet, law enforcement officers found a post of an Uzhgorod public activist about illegal actions of policemen. 
The information provided by the activist stated that the police officers had illegally detained two people and then used physical force while interrogating them.
The management of the Main Offcie of the National Police in Transcarpathian region initiated an immediate investigation into the matter.
During a preliminary investigation, police officers identified the alleged victims. Meanwhile, the information on the involvement of current and former police officers in the incident is being verified.
We ask the persons involved to provide information to the prosecutor’s office to establish the truth in this case.
