Transcarpathian foresters are building up drop structures on the mountain rivers of the region. The main purpose of the structures is to restrain the rapid streams of water.
Drops are particularly needed during heavy rainfall, when the water level rises and threatens with flood. Also, drops are a favorable environment for trout, which foresters annually release into the crystal clear waters of the mountain rivers of Transcarpathia.
The fish can lives only in clean water filled with oxygen provided by drops. Today, foresters of the region have built over 100 drops in different corners of the region. The work continues.
