Transcarpathian festivals in January: competition of butchers

Traditional gastronomic festivals of Transcarpathia bring together gourmets, cooks and fans of Transcarpathian cuisine, the festival of butchers in the village of Hecha in Beregovo district is no exception.

According to the Tourist Information Center "Tourinform Transcarpathia", the traditional holiday – competition of butchers – will bring together gourmets, cooks and fans of pork in the village of Hecha in Beregovo district of Transcarpathia.

Time: Traditionally, the festival will begin early in the morning and last until late in the evening.
The program of the Festival of Butchers 2020
8.00 gathering and preparation of the teams. Treating the contestants with hot wine and vodka
8.20 – 9.30 – Traditional, demonstrative cutting of a pig
8.00 – 14.00 Preparation of national Hungarian pork dishes, tasting and evaluation
7.00 – 18.00 Sale of pork dishes, demonstration of sausage smoking and sale of fresh food
8.00 – 18.00 Tasting of wines from local producers
13.00 Official opening of the holiday of butchers
14.00 – 17.00 Cultural and entertaining program
17.00 Awarding of the winners of the contest
