The deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council ask the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to ensure proper supervision over the legality of the criminal proceeding against the Charitable Foundation "Transcarpathian Center for Economic Development "Egan Ede", the press service of the Regional Council informs.
At the 11th session of the Regional Council, the deputies adopted the decision "On the Appeal of the Transcarpathian Regional Council to ensure proper supervision over the legality of the criminal proceeding" and sent it to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.
The document states that the deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council are deeply concerned about the situation regarding the activities of the Charitable Foundation "Transcarpathian Center for Economic Development "Egan Ede", which provides comprehensive support to the entrepreneurs of the region and thus contributes to the economic and social development of the region.
Thus, according to the decision of the investigating judge of Uzhgorod city and court, N. Dergachov in the case number 308 / 5460/18, it is known that based on the report of the Sate Information Monitoring of Ukraine and the attached materials, according to which the officials of the CF "Egan Ede" during the years 2016-2017 received and provided funds to individuals and legal entities in the territory of Ukraine for an amount in excess of eighteen thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens in order to change the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine, the investigative department of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region initiated a criminal proceeding for the offense under Part 4 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"We are deeply concerned by the fact – it is stated in the document further – that the Security Service of Ukraine sees a threat to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and national interests at the state border in the assistance coming legally from one of the countries of the European Union – Hungary, which is aimed exclusively at supporting the economy of Transcarpathia and improving the lives of the region residents.
As previously reported, the Charitable Foundation "Transcarpathian Center for Economic Development "Egan Ede" is an officially registered legal entity acting on the basis of the Charters in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. The scope of its activity extends to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs living in the territory of our region, and serves the purposes of entrepreneurship, creation of new jobs, improvement of the welfare of the people on their native land.
We, the deputies of the Regional Council, do not want to create obstacles to the legal activity of investigators, and we ask you, Mr. Lutsenko, within the limits of the powers granted to you by the law, to verify the validity of the grounds for opening of the said criminal proceeding, to ensure proper supervision over the observance of the laws during the pre-trial investigation in this case", – the appeal reads.
